Have questions about outdoor programs? In this session we will look at the state of the outdoor industry in Canada and how it relates to summer camps, then discuss different approaches to safely using the wilderness as a part of ministry.
The Outdoor Classroom is an outdoor educational program that allows children to learn and explore the great outdoors, through a Christian worldview. Although students learn many useful survival skills, our main focus is to help foster a love for creation and a love for their even greater Creator.
Your frontline camp leaders are best positioned to say to campers, “Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ.” We will discuss how best to prepare camp leaders to tell the good story of Jesus by word and deed, calling campers to a lifetime of faith in him.
In any experiential program, it’s a good rule of thumb to create a little connection with your group members before diving into content. This conference will be no different! Please join us and conference attendees from other camps for a a Virtual Scavenger Hunt experience. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to work in small groups of 3-4 people to solve clues and zip around the internet utilizing teamwork and collaboration. Michelle Cummings of Training Wheels will facilitate a fun hour of connection and creativity in the virtual space.
You probably already know that converting regular activities into virtual activities isn’t as simple as just finding an online meeting room to use. There are many additional things to consider and it requires some creativity, reimagining and redesigning, all while keeping the integrity of the program intact. Join Michelle Cummings for an hour of learning and laughing as she demonstrates multiple Virtual Team Building Activities.
In times of crisis so many organizations circle the wagons and protect when they should be expanding their voice and enhancing their brand.
